My latest assignment for my 12U Writer's Craft course is to write a "micro fiction". Simply put, a micro fiction is a story told within 55 words. After putting pen to paper, this is what I came up with in 48 words:
I never signed up for this. I did not volunteer. My name was at the top of their lists, and so I was chosen; chosen to lead this somber procession. Finally they signal for us to begin, and we step out amongst blinding flashes and applause. Graduation time.
Just thought I would share.
