About me

Hey there! I am Andre Apperley, a 17 year old from Canada. I currently attend high school in Toronto, however this is my final year and I do not know where next year will take me during my journey through post-secondary education. My Mum works from home, while my Dad is in the Canadian Forces, and as a result my family and I have moved around Ontario quite a lot throughout my childhood. I hope to get a career in journalism and/or media, however there are many different opportunities within that field.

Growing up, technology was a huge part of my life, and to this day I can usually be found with a computer. While I mostly play video games, I also use the computer for graphics design, voice/video chat such as Skype or Ventrilo, and general Internet browsing. On a daily basis I keep in touch with people all over the world that I have made through several online games/communities. Although I am no longer interested in it as a career path, programming is a very interesting and exciting hobby of mine. Thanks to a computer science course that I have taken for the past three years in high school, I know some JAVA programming as well as HTML and PHP. Another "language" that I am familiar with is LUA scripting, although it has been quite a few years since I have done anything with it.

Offline, I am an avid reader, and through that comes my interest in writing. One of my goals in life is to write a book and publish it, although my attempts so far have not amounted to much more than a few pages. Perhaps the "Writer's Craft" class that I am taking this year will help me complete one of the many story ideas that buzz around in my head. At an early age my father introduced me to photography, and it has become another one of my hobbies. I am of the belief that pictures are more than still images; they are memories.

I am not a very athletic person, however the two sports that I partake in are skiing and sailing.
