A video game come true...sort of.

Hey everyone!

Awhile ago I posted an entry about my excitement for the new Skyrim DLC, Dragonborn, which hinted at flyable dragon mounts. Player-controlled dragon mounts (that can fly) is a feature that I have wanted in Skyrim since launch.

Most players (including myself) assumed that the dragon mounts would function much like the horses that already exist in the game...except they could fly, and were a FRIGGING DRAGON! Sadly, shortly after Dragonborn was released on the Xbox 360 (damn Microsoft exclusivity agreement...) it was discovered that the dragon "mounts" were not all we expected them to be...

You see, rather than giving us our very own fully controllable, flyable dragon with which to strike terror in the hearts of our enemies and look incredibly badass upon, Bethesda gave us this (quoted from the UESP wiki):

In order to ride a dragon, the player must acquire all three words of the Bend Will shout and use it on a dragon. The dragon will then land and allow the player to climb onto its back and ride it. The player cannot directly control the dragon while riding, but he or she can give it certain instructions
Those "certain instructions" are merely which enemy the dragon should attack. The player has no control over which direction the dragon flies, and pretty much sits there enjoying the ride. When you get bored of this "taxi ride", you can command the dragon to land, and as soon as you dismount it becomes hostile once again.

Maybe the disappointment is mainly the fault of the players. Many of us took Bethesda's promise of "YOU CAN TOTALLY RIDE A DRAGON!" to mean that we would be getting fully controllable, flyable dragon mounts; despite the complete lack of evidence that the dragon riding gameplay would be that extensive.

The last hope for those of us who play Skyrim on the PC is that the amazing modding community will find a way to create the fully controllable dragon mounts that we so dearly want. After all, such a mod existed for Oblivion.

Sadly without a dragon,

Updates!

Hey everyone,

To be honest, I've been lazy and couldn't be bothered to post to the blog. Here's a quick rundown of what's been going on since my last post:

  • I'm still unemployed. Still attempting to find a job, but getting desperate.
  • Started a second YouTube channel for blogs and such. Check out WordFederation!
  • School and school related stuff keeps me busy.
  • Went to see my school's production of Footloose. Absolutely fantastic!
  • Dad's working through Christmas and his birthday. Brilliant >.>
  • The digital camera that I've had since my twelfth birthday is broken. I don't know how, but it is.
    • For the past month, I've been using my Dad's Nikon D80...I really want my own DSLR, so he's letting me borrow the Nikon to get used to all the settings and such. Lots of fun :D
  • Killed another headset. This one was already dying due to the tangled cord (which I could not fix), but finally bit the dust and snapped when I gently stretched out the cord in an attempt to fix it.
    • Done with wired headsets for good...from now on I'm going to use wireless. My eye is on the Astro A50s, but until I can afford those ($300!), I'll settle for one of the Logitech headsets.
  • My Skyrim saves are corrupted, so I'm rushing through the game to get back to where I was before the Dragonborn DLC is released on PC.
    • Speaking of Dragonborn...I'm very disappointed in the "flyable" dragon mounts. More on that in another blog post.
  • I asked out my best friend. Didn't go well. Nice work, heart.
  • Two of my best friends have got me into Supernatural.
  • I really need to catch up on NCIS and How I Met Your Mother...
  • My cousin Rachelle is getting married next weekend!
  • Deleted my Tumblr. Didn't use it much anyway.
  • Deleted a bunch of people off of Facebook. Mostly people I don't talk to anymore, or duplicate/deactivated accounts.
  • I'm missing Ottawa, and my best friend/"sister" Erin Casey. Planning to make a trip back during the March Break...or after I get my G2.
  • Feeling bad about not getting my friends Christmas/birthday presents...no money, no job. >.>
  • All of my applications for university and college are submitted!
    • In order of preference...
      • Universities:
        • Ryerson University
        • University of Toronto: Scarborough Campus
        • Carlton University
      • Colleges:
        • Humber College
        • Seneca College
        • Centennial College
  • Tried out the Samsung Galaxy Note II today...definitely better than I originally thought. After my iPhone 4 dies, I'll probably get the 4S. After that, will definitely put a lot of consideration into the Galaxy Note II...or whichever the latest version is at that point.
  • Found the perfect Christmas present for a classmate of mine. Not going to say here on the off chance that she reads my blog (hahaha, as if), but I'm looking forward to Monday.
  • Bought my friend Janine a Tom Hiddleston T-Shirt. Hopefully it will come in the mail before the break.
  • My iPhone 4 has battery issues. Goes from 100% to 74% in less than an hour, and takes longer to charge to 100% than usual. Definitely going to the Apple store before the warranty expires on the 22nd.

That's really all I can think of right now.

Until next time,

Back in commission!

Hey everyone!

Last Wednesday I had a bit of a cough/sore throat when I woke up, but didn't let that stop me and went to school anyway. By the end of first period, I was feeling one hundred times worse, and came home with a headache, fever, chills, aches...the flu. That day was spent in bed, and later on in the evening I went to a walk-in clinic, where they told me to stay home and rest/take fluids.

By the next morning I was feeling mostly fine again, so I went on the Harbourfront Centre field trip with my Media class. Yet another mistake...by the time I got home my fever was back up to 102.7 degrees and I spent another night in bed.

Throughout Friday, my fever went up and down, and eventually my doctor recommended that my parents take me to the hospital for chest X-rays, as he thought I may have contracted pneumonia.

After nearly three hours in the hospital, the doctors concluded that I did not have pneumonia and that I should stay home for a few days to rest, as well as continue to take fluids. Was that not what the walk-in clinic told me on Wednesday? Oh well, back to bed I went.

Saturday and Sunday were grueling, especially since I had now become bored of being stuck in my house. Oh what I would have given to be outside! Monday came around and I decided to go to school. Most of my symptoms were gone...all except for a lingering cough which I am still getting over.

Rest assured, I am not contagious!

Until next time,

Heads up!

Hey everyone!

This post is more for people who have my personal email address, but I figured I would post it here to cover "all bases".

Today I found out that my email account has been sending out spam/garbage emails. If you get a sketchy-looking email from me, do not click on any links or download any attachments/pictures.

Thanks,

ARGH! CLIFFHANGERS!

Hey everyone!

Yesterday morning I finished the main storyline of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The ending was fantastic, but I have one slight problem with it...

CLIFFHANGER! OH MY GOD, WHAT A CLIFFHANGER!

Now I won't go into any detail because of spoilers, but I really want to get Assassin's Creed Revelations (on Steam) so I can find out what happens next.

Damn you, Ubisoft! Damn you for making such a brilliant game and a fantastic ending!

In other news related to the Assassin's Creed series, I want to play through Revelations before getting Assassin's Creed III. I'm so behind! D:

Until next time,

Call Me Maybe? :3

Pardon me, we have only recently become acquainted, and this is quite illogical. Here is a numerical sequence with which you can contact me by telephone. Perhaps you’ll use it?

Reversal

Hey everyone!

I reverted back to the old layout/style. The new one kind of wore out quickly.

Until next time,
