New computer! :O

Ohai everyone, and happy Thursday to you!

So last night my Dad and I worked on the computer I mentioned a few posts ago. Sadly, the 550W power supply he bought to replace the faulty 650W did not have the specific connectors needed for both my hard-drive and CD-Drive. After pulling apart three computers, I noticed that the power supply in my old system had the exact number of connectors needed, so we yanked it out and tried it out.

Success! Boot up went fine, so we put the hard-drive from my old computer into the new system and everything is working fine...so far. Here is a list of the current specifications:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H61M-S2-B3
Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 @ 3.10GHz
Power Supply: 450W (Will upgrade to a 650W as soon as possible)
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Patriot Gamer-2 DDR3-1333MHz
Video Card: ASUS Radeon HD 5450 1GB-DDR3 (Will replace with my EVGA GeForce GTS 450 - 1GB GDDR5 today)
HDD: 1TB (taken from my previous system)


I'm very excited to start using this setup, and will hopefully see an increase in performance with my games and such. Even navigating folders, opening documents, and other basic operations are super fast!
