Hey everyone!
Recently I purchased a shiny website for me to mess around with. I have a few ideas of what to do with it, and one of them is permanently moving my blog over there.
When I actually get around to creating the website, you will be able to find all future blog posts at http://andreapperley.com/blog.html
Check out my website at http://andreapperley.com
See you on the new site!

Starbucks
Hey everyone!
Up until October of last year, I had taken some pride in saying that I had not given in to the "evil" that is Starbucks. That changed when I stopped in for a tea while on a field trip to the Harbourfront with my Media class.
I explained to the barista that it was my first time ever being in a Starbucks, and if I could just get a normal large tea. He walked me through the different teas, and I settled on an orange pekoe...which I'm pretty sure is what I usually get. I also added a bit of honey, since I had been rather sick (this was right around the time when I had a high fever/possible pneumonia).
That large tea was thrown out. Absolutely horrid. However, I blame that on the fact that I was sick and could not taste anything properly. Today I went into the nearby Starbucks that had recently opened to hand in my resume. While there, I bought myself a "cool lime" drink and an "oak fudge" brownie.
OH MY GOODNESS, those were amazing. The oak fudge brownie was especially awesome. I am definitely going to buy a large tea and an oak fudge brownie the next time I go.
It truly is a shame that the Starbucks near my house is in the opposite direction of my school...otherwise I would be there every morning for a tea. Perhaps when I get my G2 and have access to the car, I will make a quick stop; but for now I'll have to stick with Mr. Beans.
Until next time,

Holidays
Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and an amazing holiday so far! Winter break for me started really fast-paced, what with my cousin getting married, but now it has slowed down. Today was the family gathering at my Bubba's place, and tomorrow I am visiting my aunt and grandmother in Mississauga.
For Christmas my parents gave me a laptop and a printer...both gifts are extremely useful considering that I am going into my first year of post-secondary education next fall. My mum also gave me a chocolate "lump of coal" which had a peanut butter filling.
In other exciting news, we have adopted my cousin's cat Hani! He's adorable, and hopefully he'll adjust to our home. I have already posted many pictures of him on Facebook and Instagram, and there are many more to come. So far Ryker has not made any "open attacks" on Hani, but he's of course very territorial.
Sadly, I have not gone skiing yet, but I hope to be on the hills this season! Especially since the trips with my school may not happen because of the teacher strike...
I am writing this at 1:30 in the morning because, as usual, I cannot sleep.
Until next time,

Which tire?!
I love this particular urban legend...the professor is a genius :D
- Andre :3One year, at Duke, there were these two guys who were taking Chemistry and who did pretty well on all of the quizzes and the midterms and labs, such that going into the final they had a solid A. These two friends were so confident going into the final that the weekend before finals week (even though the Chemistry final was on Monday), they decided to go up to Virginia and party with some friends up there. So they did this and had a great time. However, with their hangovers and everything, they overslept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Duke until early Monday morning.
Rather than taking the final then, what they did was to find Professor Bonk after the final and explain to him why they missed the final. They told him that they went up to UV for the weekend, and had planned to come back in time to study, but that they had a flat tire on the way back and didn't have a spare and couldn't get help for a long time and so were late getting back to campus. Bonk thought this over and then agreed that they could make up the final on the following day. The two guys were elated and relieved.
So, they studied that night and went in the next day at the time that Bonk had told them. He placed them in separate rooms and handed each of them a test booklet and told them to begin. They looked at the first problem, which was something simple about morality and solutions and was worth 5 points. "Cool" they thought, "this is going to be easy." They did that problem and then turned the page. They were unprepared, however, for what they saw on the next page.
It said: (95 points) Which tire?

I like big books...

A good friend of mine sent me this:
I LIKE BIG BOOKS AND I CAN NOT LIE
YOU OTHER READERS CAN’T DENY
WHEN A BOOK WALKS IN WITH A GOOD PLOT BASE
AND A BIG SPINE IN YOUR FACE YOU GET SPRUNG
WANNA PULL OUT YOUR PENS
‘CAUSE YOU NOTICED THAT BOOK WAS DENSE
READING, HALF-RIMS I’M WEARING
I’M HOOKED AND I AIN’T CARING
OH BABY I WANT AN E-READER
AND A MEANINGFUL METER
MY TEACHERS TRIED TO TRAIN ME
THAT BOOK YOU GOT MAKES ME SO BRAINY
Brightened my day...he's now my favourite :D
Until next time,

Wedding!
Hey everyone!
Next Sunday my cousin Rachelle is getting married! I'm extremely happy and excited for her, and cannot wait for the day to arrive. Come to think of it, she's the first of my cousins to get married!
Not only is this the first wedding that I will have attended, but it will also be the first Sikh wedding! My cousin converted to Sikhism a few years ago, and is marrying a wonderful Sikh man. I don't really have any idea of what to expect at the ceremony, but I'm looking forward to it.
My Dad and I even went to get matching suits! Here's a picture of me "suiting up":
